"Temporal and Spectral Properties of Gamma-Ray Bursts"
Аннотация:
The exact nature of GRB progenitors (and associated radiation mechanisms) is still unknown and, as such, studies of GRBs are important research endeavors. We aim to characterize the observed variability of the prompt emission of GRBs over a large energy range via analysis of spectral lags and other temporal properties such as the minimum characteristic timescale that distinguishes scaling regions from regions of intrinsic noise in GRB samples taken from both the Fermi and Swift databases. Furthermore, we aim to compare and contrast some of these properties with those observed in GRBs that exhibit X-ray flaring events with the aim of probing possible connections between the prompt emission and the early afterglow. The variability is extracted by using tools that are based on Fourier and Wavelet techniques. Existing relations such as the lag-luminosity and the frequency -luminosity will be discussed.
