The multi-mode focal reducer SCORPIO-2 allows various observations of extended and stellar object to be performed at the primary focus of the SAO RAS 6-m telescope in following modes:
- Direct images in Jounson-Cousins (UBVRI), SDSS (ugriz) photometric systems as well as in narrowband filters
- Longs-slit spectroscopy
- Longs-slit spectropolarimetry
- Broad-band polarimetry
- 3D-spectroscopy with scanning Fabry-Perot interferometer
- 3D-spectroscopy with the integral-field unit (IFU)
SCORPIO-2 was designed and developed under the leadership of
Victor Afanasiev
SCORPIO-2 is the autor's instrument. The studies carried out with SCORPIO-2 are conducted in cooperation with the staff of the Laboratory of Spectroscopy and Photometry of Extragalactic Objects of SAO RAS.
